Gardens & Homes Tour 2019

The 2019 Milton Garden tour was held on Sunday, September 22 from 10-3. It is a rain or shine event unless there is a hurricane or very bad northeaster. In these cases the downtown floods and we would have to move the date to Saturday, September 28. There is a contact number for information that day on the flyer that is included here. There are 7 gardens on the tour this year and are as diverse as they can be. Two of the gardens are very tropical gardens with palm trees and citrus trees as well as many other tropical plants. The gardeners will be available to tell you how it is possible to grow these plants as far north as we are located. To further amaze you one of these gardens has a running G-scale train AND a large raised bed vegetable garden. A third garden is known throughout the region for the incredible selection and variety of plants, water features and other points of interest that qualify it to be a Wildlife Habitat Garden. We have a shade garden, a pollinator garden with over 300 plants that attract birds, bees and butterflies. Also open will be the restored Welch Pharmacy with the original showcases, shelves and medicine drawers.

The Cape Gazette covered the event in this article.

Here are a few photos of some of the garden highlights. (Click on each photo to enlarge it.)
